Ion has over 20 years’ experience in the planning and delivery of large scale sporting events, from global spectacles including Summer and Winter Olympic Games, Rugby World Cups and Cricket World Cups, to mass participation sporting events including the world's largest fun run (City2Surf), triathlons and cycling events, as well as smaller projects for both public and private entities. 

Having worked across a number of disciplines, Ion has intrinsic knowledge and understanding of the risks associated with the delivery of these events and has been central to building a culture of safety and risk management within each project and amongst each team he has worked with. He has provided safety support and developed strategic planning documents for numerous clients to assist them in ensuring the safe delivery of their events.
